A piece written by composer Terry Riley in 1964, the score of "In C" boasts 53 different fragments to choose from. This piece is performed with a variable amount of musicians, but there's one consistent thing - it is unique every time. It is highly improvisatory and embraces the harmony and chaos brought about by using these small pieces to tell a bigger story.
I have used some of these fragments to compose the "Running In C" project, recorded and edited in Logic Pro X. I used imagery that portrays a wide and endless sky of fireworks where sparks would collide or fly away from each other.
