The Music Technology & Business Society of Temple University is an organization for any Temple University student that is interested in pursuing a career in the music industry. The group discusses tips and tricks for the music business, and technical and creative topics with other members. The music industry is a large network, and gaining networking skills now will benefit members of this club later on in their careers. The organization is affiliated with the Audio Engineering Society Philly Chapter.
For the school year 2019-2020, my role was the Vice President of the organization. I was heavily involved in releasing weekly newsletters, creating content for it, fact checking, and social media outreach. I spearheaded community activities, including a showcase in the Fall of 2019 called "FLOW", and an Open Mic in the Spring of 2020. I believe these events bring our community together, and provide a platform for student musicians to express themselves freely.
The logo design was inspired from Temple University's mascot, Stella the Owl. It needed to be a representation that is approachable, and will effectively inform prospective members and guests what kind of a university organization we are. Thus, the addition of the colored headphones to contrast the classic red, white, and black palette the university utilizes, and to represent the music technology element of the group. It was also vital, that the logo could be easily placed on physical merchandise for marketing, such as stickers, lanyards, pins, photographs, and flyers.
Mailchimp, Adobe Spark, and Buffer were primarily used to manage the media accounts below.
Adobe Illustrator was used to create the colored and black and white logo that represents the organization.
