FOCUS Podcast

The FOCUS Podcast - where I am the creator, co-host, producer, and engineer, started with an idea focusing on honesty, freedom, and perspective. I wanted to share experiences and tell people’s stories using a platform that would allow me to use the skills I’ve learned in recording and editing. The medium that struck me the most was the world of podcasts. Stories, facts and fiction, are told from various points of view using different methods such as monologues, interviews, panels, theatre, education, and vivid storytelling. These factors broadened my horizons and has allowed me to realize the importance of listening, sharing, and community.

The first season tells our story (Marina & sister, co-host Mikee Ballesteros) through casual conversations about our interests, and issues most important to us. We explore topics such as: the ongoing pandemic, social media, mental health, relationships, culture, values, recipes, skincare, korean variety shows, and kdramas. In the show, we invite people in our lives who have different opinions and experiences, and engage in conversation to give listeners a diversified outlook regarding these topics.

In the second season of the podcast, we place the FOCUS on fellow creators around us. We invite local talented artists, musicians, and engineers who have their own stories to tell and content to share. In this way, we build a community of innovators who are free to speak their mind and express themselves. It also gives listeners a chance to have a deeper look as to what inspires people, and is an opportunity to connect with some of their most favorite talents!
